As we meet, and as the cultures encounter

KarlMarx, one of my comrades friends has worked to improve the situation of the migrant labors from countries such as the Philippines, Vietnam and Thailand. His weblog is use to report about the policies on the migrant labors, about how the migrant labors work and live in Taiwan. It seems that he is concerned with the Philippines recently, but it seems that little friends from the Philippines browse his weblog. Well, as the Filipino friend constip8d left messages on my weblog, I guess KarlMarx must be jealous. Well, just let me advertise for KarlMarx’s weblog, ‘Taiwan Migrants’ Forum’, there is lots of useful information

Constip8d seems glad to be here to know about our lives and culture in Taiwanese, she said that she watched a popular soap opera ‘The Meteor Garden’, it made her curious about Taiwan and she want to know about more, then she tried to search for Taiwanese culture from the weblogs on the Internet. That sounds good, but there is always a question for we Taiwanese, what is Taiwanese culture? Even no one in Taiwan can have an ensured answer for that. For instance, although ‘The Meteor Garden’ is directed and performed by the Taiwanese, but the story is based on a Japanese comic, the characters’ names and the background is all in Japanese style, Could you really consider that belongs to Taiwan?

There are many discussions – even quarrels about what’s Taiwanese Culture. Some consider Taiwan is the place to save the purest and most delicate Chinese traditions, the best proof is the National Palace Museum located in Taipei. Some consider Taiwanese culture is a collage combined with the Chinese culture, Japanese culture and lot’s different cultures all over the world. Some one is keen to find some culture really local in order to fight with all the influence overseas, especially the influence from China.

Well, as constip8d is glad to meet we Taiwanese, to know about Taiwanese, I think there are many ones in Taiwan would like to know about what did she looked and noticed about, there are many ones would like to know what do they look like and what they are in any kind point of view. However, I am just one of them.
